Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an inpatient Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving a diverse patient population with multiple co-morbidities, with a specialized focus on stroke (neuro) patients
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
• Perform and manage feeding tube care, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, ports, and administer blood products; start IVs and provide CVA and nasal cannula care
• Monitor telemetry remotely and, preferably, on the unit; interpret and respond to EKG findings
• Float to any campus within the health system as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers are welcome
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Remote telemetry monitoring experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• No open background check cases permitted; third-party education verification required
• Current driver's license required to verify address
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Time-off requests must be submitted with the application; no post-submission requests accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• On-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
• Experience caring for stroke/neuro patient populations
• Familiarity with multi-campus health system environments and floating requirements
